Surrounded by the Pirin, Rila and Rhodope mountains and 95 miles from the capital of Sofia, the ancient town of Bansko is a thriving mountain resort with a population of around 10,000, offering excellent all year conditions for mountain sports and tourism. Unlike many other resorts, here the facilities are situated exclusively in the town of Bansko, with the mountain resort offering the most up to date infrastructure available for a perfect vacation.
The skiing season starts in mid December and lasts through until mid April when the town changes over to a summer resort offering superb opportunities for mountain biking, walking, fishing, golf, sightseeing and many others. During the winter months the cabin/gondola lift transports skiers from the town to the vicinity of ‘Bunderishka polyana’ with one intermediary station at ‘Chalin valog’. The capacity of the lift is 2400 people per hour.
